Ekiti State Faydah Tijanniyah Muslim Organization Hosts Special Prayer Session for Governor Oyebanji's Re-election, Ekiti State
Members of the Faydah Tijanniyah Muslim Organization of Nigeria, Ekiti State chapter in their numbers have converged to offer special prayers for continued peace and harmony in Ekiti State as well as the re-election of governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State at the June 20 election.
The special prayers held at a mosque in Ado Ekiti on Sunday had in attendance all leaders of the Islamic group, youths, women and children.
The prayers presided by the State Chairman, Professor Ahmad Aminullah lasted over four hours as the entire chapters of the Holy Quran and other special supplications were recited purposely to seek the face of Allah for a favourable election for governor Oyebanji.
One after the other, the various revered sheikhs in the fold the Tijanniyah took turn to offer special prayers for the governor's re-election saying he deserves a second term in view of his outstanding performances, character and open door policy to everyone irrespective of religious affiliations.
The prayer which was at the instance of the Khalifat Khulafah Tijanniyah of Ekiti State was spiritually engaging as the Hausa and Ebera communities among their tribes were not left out.
They all prayed for divine victory for governor Oyebanji whom they described as a friend of Muslims and Islam through his friendly policies, appointments and dividends of democracy which Muslims have massively benefitted from since the commencement of his administration.
Aside the governor, special prayers for divine guidance, protection and wisdom were offered for the Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Alhaja(Prof) Habibat Adubiaro who was described as a woman of repute who places premium on the well-being of Muslims including men, women and children.
Prayers were also offered for the entire Ekiti State for peace to reign before, during and after the June 20 governorship election noting that it's only in an atmosphere of peace that development could be enjoyed by the people.
The congregation which extended its prayers to the President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Yoruba Land, Edo and Delta State, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, the President of the Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs, Ekiti State, Dr Hammed Afolabi Bakare and the entire Muslim community and organizations urged them to be law abiding and always support the government of the day in view of its people oriented policies and programs.
Eminent scholars including the Grand Khalifat of Tijanniyah Muslim Society, Sheikh Qudus Oladimeji, Sheikh (Dr) Maruf Tijani Cissey, Sheikh Razak Akeukanwo- Al Adabiy, Sheikh Jamiu Ajise and Sheikh Aleem Al-Adabiy as well as women leaders like Amirah Faedah Ekiti State, Seidah Khadeejat Akindele and Seidah Jafareeyah who led women to the occasion.
The Deputy National Youth Leader, Prince Suleiman Nurudeen and State Youth Leader, Imam Akeem Al-Adabiy led the youths as members from all the local government areas of the State converged in large number.
Members of the Faydah Tijanniyah Muslim Organization promise not to relent in their consistent prayers before and after the re-election of governor Biodun Oyebanji for him not to only break the jinx of back to back succession but to also end his 8 year administration successfully.
