LATE IMAM OF IJAN EKITI, ALHAJI AKINGBADE PASSES, INTERRED AMIDST GLOWING TRIBUTES FROM EKITI MUSLIM COMMUNITY

The remains of the late chief Imam of Ijan Ekiti-Alhaji Ahmed Akingbade have been buried according to Islamic rites at his residence Imoru street, Ijan-Ekiti Gbonyin local Government, Ekiti State.

Present at the burial rites were Imams, Alfas, dignatories, chiefs and people of different faiths qwithina the state, also personalities came across the country
Delivering a short sermon during the Janazah (interment) President General of the League of Imams and Alfas in Yoruba Land,Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Jamiu Keulere Bello described death as an inevitable journey for all to embark upon though the time for everyone to depart for the journey could not be Pre- determined not changed except by the will of Allah.
He described the late Imam as a dedicated and loyal personality who stood out in the fold of League of Imams in the State.

While he served as the chief Imam of Ijan Ekiti, before his demise, late Alhaji Ahmed Akingbade also served as the General Secretary to the League of Imams and Alfas Ekiti State.
The zonal chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who also paid tribute to the late Islamic cleric
described him as a peace lover whose contributions towards the entrenchment of peaceful co-exiatence among people of diverse faiths.
The late Imam Ahmed Akingbade aged 74 born in Ijan Ekiti who left behind a wife , children and grand children will be remembered for his commitment to the growth of Islam in his Ijan Ekiti country home and the development of the town generally.

The late Alhaji Ahmed Akingbade who died on Tuesday April 28 after a brief illness was the husband to the immediate past Amirah FOMWAN in Ekiti State, Alhaja Muibat Akingbade
