NIGERIA SUPREME COUNCIL FOR ISLAMIC AFFAIRS, EKITI STATE COUNCIL URGES MUSLIMS TO PRIORITIZE EDUCATION, VOCATION.......PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, ILAWE

The Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Ekiti State Council, has urged Muslims to use the blessings and resources bestowed upon them by Allah for the advancement of Islam and the benefit of humanity.

The Council made the call during its August monthly meeting held at the Otun-Ekiti Central Mosque on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
The meeting featured an Islamic lecture titled “Fear of Allah and Using Whatever Allah Has Given Us for His Sake,” delivered by Imam AbdRazak Abdullah Bello.

Speaking during the lecture, Imam Bello emphasized that Muslims should regard everything given to them by Allah as a trust that must be utilized responsibly and in accordance with Islamic teachings.
He identified knowledge, wealth, power, positions and other opportunities as blessings that should be deployed for the promotion of Islam, the development of society and the service of humanity.

The Islamic scholar also stressed the importance of Islamic education in promoting the teachings, values and peaceful principles of Islam in Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address delivered by Alhaji Abdul Awi on behalf of the President of the NSCIA Ekiti State Council, Alhaji (Dr.) Hammed Afolabi Bakare. He welcomed members of the State Executive Council, distinguished guests and media representatives.

The opening Du'a was offered at about 11:45 a.m. by Imam AbduSalam Onipede, Chief Imam of Ikun-Ekiti, after which Imam Bello recited verses from the Glorious Qur'an before delivering the monthly lecture.
Special prayers were also offered for Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju and the entire Muslim Ummah in Ekiti State.

 The prayers were led by the Chief Imam of Aramoko-Ekiti and Alfa AbduGaniy.
Also at the meeting, Chairman Ekiti Muslim Pilgrims Board, Alhaji Salmon Adedipe implored Muslims in Ekiti to patronize the State Muslim Pilgrims Board for their Hajj services with an assurance of the best services and hospitality before, during and after the holy pilgrimage to the holy land. He urged all Fulanis in the State to also contact the Pilgrim Board for enquiries and payment for their Hajj rather than travel to sister states.

He noted that the State government has been very supportive to Muslims participating in the holy pilgrimage through favourable policies and programs.

In a related development, in continuation of its activities, the NSCIA Ekiti State Council has paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Ilawe-Ekiti.

The delegation led by the NSCIA Ekiti State Council President, Alhaji (Dr.) Hammed Afolabi Bakare also had a strong delegation  that included Prof. Olawale Kamaldeen who is the Chairman, Education Committee; Alhaji Muraina Jegede who is the Council Secretary; Alhaji Abdufatai Ogundele, Council Treasurer; Ojo Babatunde Yusuf, Council PRO II; Engineer Jimoh, MSSN Amir; and A  Amirah, FOMWAN, Hajia Aishat Toyin Jimoh.

The College Management  which included the College Provost, Dr. Smart Olugbeku; the College Librarian, Dr. Issa; and the College Bursar warmly recieved the NSCIA team .
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Council and the College Management to discuss issues of mutual interest, particularly those relating to education, Islamic values and the welfare of Muslim students.

According to the Council, some of the issues raised during the engagement had already been captured in the Management's plans, a development that was welcomed by the NSCIA delegation.

At the end of the meeting, the NSCIA President requested the MSSN Amir, Engineer Jimoh, to offer special prayers for the Provost and members of his Management team.

The Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Ekiti State Council, said it would continue to promote the interests and welfare of Muslims in the state, while encouraging Islamic education, unity, peaceful coexistence and cooperation between Muslims and other religious groups.

NAPAIS EKITI EMBARKS ON INAUGURATION OF ZONAL EXECUTIVES AS STATE CHAIRMAN HIGHLIGHTS SUCCESSES WITHIN FOUR YEARS

Executive of National Association of Proprietors of Arabic and Islamic Schools ( NAPAIS) in Ekiti State has inaugurated the Central Zone of the association being one of the four zones billed to be inaugurated in the State. Another zonal executive of the National Association of Proprietors of Arabic and Islamic Schools (NAPAIS) in Ekiti State has been inaugurated by the State Executive. The newly inaugurated zonal executive was Ekiti North following the inauguration of Ekiti Central Zonal Executive over a week ago.
