International Organization, Partners Attract One Day Summit On Human Trafficking, Femicide and Gender-Based Violence To Ekiti

Stakeholders in Ekiti State are set to converge on Ado-Ekiti for a summit focused on combating human trafficking, femicide and gender-based violence.

The event, tagged “Human Trafficking, Femicide & Gender-Based Violence Summit,” is themed “From Silence to Safety: Uniting Ekiti Against Human Trafficking, Femicide, and Gender-Based Violence.”

The summit is scheduled to hold on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Adetiloye Hall, inside the Trade Fair Complex, Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

According to the organisers, the summit is designed to promote collective action against violence and other forms of abuse, while strengthening mechanisms for the prevention of human trafficking, protection of survivors and building safer communities.

The organisers identified three key areas of focus for the gathering to include preventing violence, protecting survivors and strengthening communities.

The summit is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders, community members and advocates to discuss challenges surrounding human trafficking, femicide and gender-based violence, as well as strategies for prevention, survivor protection and community mobilisation.

The event is being supported by Restoration for All, Inc., Village Wellness International, Lions International, Ado Heritage and AFGE, among other partners.

The organisers have also provided registration opportunities for interested participants and urged members of the public and relevant stakeholders to participate in the summit as part of efforts to move Ekiti from a culture of silence to one of safety, protection and collective responsibility.

Executive of National Association of Proprietors of Arabic and Islamic Schools ( NAPAIS) in Ekiti State has inaugurated the Central Zone of the association being one of the four zones billed to be inaugurated in the State. Another zonal executive of the National Association of Proprietors of Arabic and Islamic Schools (NAPAIS) in Ekiti State has been inaugurated by the State Executive. The newly inaugurated zonal executive was Ekiti North following the inauguration of Ekiti Central Zonal Executive over a week ago.
