Stage Set For Ekiti Governor's Cup 2024 Grand Finale As Christ School Tackle Efon High School


Excitement is building across Ekiti State as preparations reach its peak for the grand finale of the Ekiti State Governor's Cup 2024.

The final match will set to take place tomorrow Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.

 Christ School, Ado-Ekiti will face  Efon Alaaye High School in what is expected to be a fierce battle for school football supremacy.

The event is expected to be graced by a host of distinguished dignitaries, led by the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, who has been a passionate advocate for youth and sports development in the state.

Also expected are the   Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Koforowola Aderiye, Dr. Olusola Osetoba, who is the Technical Advisor to the Governor, Ekiti State Football Association Chairman, Chief Olu Oloworemo among others.

The Ekiti Governors Cup, an initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing football talents across secondary schools in the state, has become a beacon of hope for aspiring. footballers.

Having been successful in Osun and Oyo States, the Ekiti Governor's Cup has become another inspiring story.

Sponsored by Peculiar Ultimate Concerns and organized by the Schools' Sports Foundation, the tournament has successfully brought together schools from across Ekiti, fostering healthy competition and discovery of raw talents.

The founder of the Schools’ Sports Foundation, Yomi Elijah, expressed gratitude to the people of Ekiti for their unwavering support. 

The United Kingdom trained Coach said the competition has lived up to it's billing and will keep growing yearly.

Christ School, known for its tactical discipline and solid defence will be looking to leverage its rich history in school Sports.

Meanwhile, Efon Alaaye High School, with its fast-paced attacking style, promises to bring flair and excitement to the final match.

Both Christ School, Ado-Ekiti and Efon Alaaye High School have shown remarkable resilience and skills throughout the tournament.

As the teams prepare to take the field, anticipation is high and football fans from across the state are expected to flock  the stadium, creating an electrifying atmosphere that will undoubtedly inspire the young players to give their best performances.

The Ekiti Governor's Cup is more than just a football tournament; it is a platform for empowering youth and promoting values such as teamwork, discipline and perseverance.

At the grand finale aside football action, spectators will also be treated to cultural display and entertainment that will highlight the rich heritage of Ekiti State
