Muslim Political Appointees, NACOMYO Host Special Prayers For Tranquility In Ekiti

Following the spate of recent security threats recorded in Ekiti State, some adherents of Islam in Ekiti State have held  special prayers to seek the face of Allah.

The prayers presided by the commissioner for Regional Development and Intergovernmental Affairs, Dr Kareem Makanjuola took place shortly after the jumat service at the Ekiti Government House Mosque in Ado Ekiti was attended by all Muslim political appointees in the present administration as well as members of the NACOMYO in the State

The appointees took turn to recite surahs of the holy Quran with references to the various holy names of Allah.

The Muslims opined that the State governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji had been doing well in various spheres of life, hence the State deserves to be in peace and harmony in order to enjoy more development and growth.

In his remarks, a commissioner at the State Audit Board, Dr Muftau Bello, Dr Sikiru Olowoyo and Alhaji Lateef Kewulere among other Governor's aides requested for special prayers to Allah for divine guidance and protection of people of the State, the governor and those in government.

The governor was applauded for fulfilling his promise of equity by considering a sizeable number of Muslims for political appointments unlike what obtained in previous governments since the creation of the State.

They prayed Allah to expose those behind the various nefarious activities within the State and grant the State governor the wisdom to continue to lead aright.

According to the Special Adviser to the governor on Tertiary Institutions, Dr Akeem Abdulazeez noted that the governor has been strategizing on different efforts to arrest the situation and ensure total peace in the State.

He urged people not to attach political meanings to the recent dastardly acts of some criminals recorded within the State adding that the governor deserves the support of every stakeholder and people of the State.

Imam Ekiti State Government House Mosque, Alhaji Fatai Olohunkemi in his closing remarks prayed Allah for the safe return of all the pupils, and teachers who were kidnapped at Eporo recently as well and prayed for the repose the two royal fathers killed by unknown gunmen.
