Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund Board Members Felicitate Chairman, Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila On American University Doctorate Degree Award

Felicitations have started pouring in  from friends and associates of the Chairman Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund, Dr Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila on the conferment of Honorary Doctorate on the Ado Ekiti born philanthropist.

Members of the Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund joined other groups and individuals that have identified and congratulated Dr Jakande-Ajilacon the fear.

They described her as a rare gem with rare spirit of kindness , generosity and vision.

The ESDTF members comprising Chief Segun Adebayo, Chief Femi Afolabi, Hon Gbenga Faroye, Hon. Felicia Arise, Hon Femi Atobaloye, Hon Tunde Adewale as well as Qozeem Oladapo thanked Prowess University,USA for counting Dr Jakande-Ajila worthy of the prestigious honour saying she has been a true ambassador of Ekiti State and  motherhood going by her passion and initiatives.

The ESDTF Board Members promised to always rally round her towards ensuring the vision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji who appointed them is accomplished for the betterment of humanity and development of Sports.

Saturday November 30, 2024 will go down in history as a day never to be forgotten in decades by Recipients of Doctorate Degree and Fellows courtesy of Prowess University in Delaware, United States of America.

The award recipients emerged from across Nigeria while the only Ekiti indigene among them was Ado Ekiti born entrepreneur cum politician, Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila.

President, Ecolerite Institute of Peace Advancement, Prowess University, Delaware, USA, Dr Kazeem Akande Babatunde said like other award recipients, the recently appointed Chairman of Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund -ESDTF was recognized for the prestigious award by the authorities of the American University based on the recipient's humanitarian and entrepreneurial prowess.

Secretary, Ecolerite Institute of Peace Advancement, Dr Oladipo Gbeminiyi urged all the award recipients to sustain the good works that earned them the recognition.

While Hon. Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila was conferred with the Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration 10 other personalities who distinguished themselves in different fields of endeavour also bagged Doctorate award in various fields including Financial Management, Environmental Management, Peace and Conflict Management, Business Administration as well as Oil and Gas Management while some others became Fellows .

The guest speaker at the occasion, Dr Sunday Ogbaji highlighted the importance of creativity and implementation of innovative ideas towards attaining a technologically, socially and economically viable society with reference to items and gadgets that were innovated years back but are now obsolete due to emerging innovations globally.

Dr Ogbaji urged all the award recipients to see the honour as a call to be more creative and proactive at making the world a better place for all.

The occasion was well attended by dignitaries from across the country including former deputy governor of Ekiti State, Professor Modupe Adelabu who charged them to hold firmly unto their roles as advocates of Peace , Good governance and positive change that would drive the desired society for all.

She congratulated Dr Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila and other recipients on the recognition asking them not to relent , rather put on their thinking cap towards ensuring a better society.

Joined by numerous friends, family members, political allies and associates, Dr Jakande-Ajila promised to dedicate herself to the service of humanity especially women and children.

She said more efforts will be intensified towards touching more lives and alleviating poverty among the vulnerable through various initiatives and programs.

Dr Tokunbo Jakande-Ajila is an exceptional environmentalist, maritime expert and a philanthropist

The Ado Ekiti born politician who is in her 50s heads the Sea Protection Levy Unitat NIMASA whose contributions have helped Nigeria to achieve an improved revenue generation for Nigeria through the Maritime Industry.

Dr Jakande-Ajila is well known for her commitment towards finding solutions to renewable energy, rural development and environmental protection.

The event held at the prestigious University of Ibadan had in attendance royal fathers and academic juggernauts from various institutions.
