EKITI STATE SUPREME COUNCIL FOR ISLAMIC AFFAIRS CALLS FOR CAUTION ON NIGERIA / US RELIGIOUS STANCES , SUES FOR ENTRENCHMENT OF PEACE IN EKITI
Members of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Ekiti State branch has sued for caution on the recent security issue raising dust between Nigeria and the United States.
Rising from its monthly meeting held on Sunday at Ewu Ekiti Mosque in Ilejemeje Local Government, the executive of the council led by Dr Hammed Afolabi Bakare urged th Federal government to take decisive steps at letting the international community know true security situation in the country and solicit necessary foreign support to curb insecurity in all parts of the country .
The Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs while reiterating the unquantifiable havoc wreaked by those behind the unwarranted onslaughts in some parts of the country noted that a stray relationship with a country like America at this time would not be helpful to Nigeria and its citizens, while the United States also needs to get it's fact right about goings on in Nigeria rather than making unguided comments that could lead to frail bilateral relationship.
The Islamic highest body noted that crisis and killings in Nigeria were not based on religion nor ethnicity.
On the current development in Ekiti State, the Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs gave glory to Allah for His mercy which has brought about enduring peace and tranquility in the State.
While calling on government and the governed to firmly hold unto the existing peace being enjoyed across the State by showing love and kindness to everyone irrespective of ethnic and religious leanings.
The group felicitated Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji on the occasion of his third anniversary
Th e governor was applauded for the various landmark achievements recorded by his administration in the last three years.
The Council while praying for divine guidance and protection urged the Ekiti State governor to brace up for more work due to higher expectations from Ekiti people having emerged as the consensus candidate of his political party APC for the 2026 gubernatorial election.
The Muslim community was urged to remain steadfast in its support for good governance, development and peace in Ekiti State.
