EKSU ALUMNI SPORTS DIRECTOR, QOZEEM OLADAPO DEDICATES SPORTS WEARS DONATIONS TO GOV. OYEBANJI IN APPRECIATION OF SPORTS STRIDES IN EKITI

A member of the Executive of the Ekiti State Alumni Association, Ekiti State chapter serving as the Sports Director, Qozeem Oladapo has facilitated the donation of three sets of jersey to three different groups in Ekiti State.

The donations held on October 1 coincided with the 29th anniversary of the creation of Ekiti State and 65th anniversary of Nigeria's creation.

The brand new jersey which were of different colours as preferred by the beneficiaries were donated to SWAN, NASFAT YOUTH and Correctional Center all in Ekiti State.

At the presentation of the jersey in Ado Ekiti, Oladapo who doubles as a member of the Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund and Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State said the donations were specially dedicated to governor Biodun Oyebanji-BAO.

He said the gesture was in recognition and appreciation of the numerous strides of the governor whom he described as a rare passionate Sports enthusiast and achiever of repute.

The EKSU Alumni Sports Director said the beneficiaries of the sports wears were selected on purpose considering his relationships with each of the groups while the credit goes to governor Oyebanji who gave him the platform to serve as a Board member in the Sports Development Trust Fund.

The Gogetter as he's popularly known by his fans in the Sports circle said the governor has positively turned the fortune of sports profession and professionals around within less than three years of his administration.

Oladapo highlighted some of the strides of the governor that attracted his attention and commendation including the renovation of the Oluyemi Kayode stadium, construction of the first ever multipurpose indoor sports hall, purchase of international standard basketball upright, payment of stipends to budding sportsmen and women who are not yet on the employment list of government,  improvement in the welfare packages of Team Ekiti prior to National Youth am Games and National Sports Festivals, increment in salaries and allowances of Ekiti United and Ekiti Queens players and officials.

While also applauding the governor for ensuring and sustaining the premier  League status of Ekiti Queens for the first time in the history of the State and ensuring the promotion of Ekiti United FC to the National League, Qozeem Oladapo gave kudos to the governor for his ingenuity at constructing an hostel for sportsmen and women near the stadium in order to ease the burden of accommodation prior and during league  matches and other major events. 

The popular sports journalist who said though he's not a politician noted that Oyebanji's unhidden passion for sports and youth development stands him out as a governor who has touched every sector especially sports which used to receive lesser attention from government in the past.

He expressed his unalloyed support for the re-election of governor Oyebanji who is also an alumnus of the Ekiti State University saying the sports sector and other sectors will enjoy more development if re-elected.
