EKITI LEAGUE OF IMAMS & ALFAS CLAMOURS FOR EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNANCE
The League of Imams and Alfas, Ekiti State chapter has appealed to adherents to show more commitment and passion in politics and governance.
In a communique issued by the Media Director of the League in Ado Ekiti, Alhaji Yusuf Akeusola at the end of its monthly general meeting at the ADS Central Mosque, Omuo Oke -Ekiti, the group led by the President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas, Southwest, Edo and Delta States, Fadheelat Sheikh (Dr) Jamiu Keulere-Bello charged members to always discharge their political responsibilities with the fear of God and unwavering commitment to the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
The cleric lauded the Biodun Oyebanji administration for an impactful and inclusive governance.
He urged Muslims in the state to project government's efforts positively in a bid to deepenen mutual trust and cooperation .
Sheikh Kewulere used the medium to highlight the efforts of the League to embark on the establishment of an ultra modern Islamic Center which would accommodate worship and research center, educational and amusement park among others.
The League of Imams and Alfas, Ekiti State said the project would aid the propagation of Islam among both the old and younger generations.
Chairman Elders Forum in Ekiti East, Alhaji Shittu Bello popularly known as Tiwonloju commended the resourcefulness of members.
He urged them to be just and fair in their dealings with other members of the society especially from other faiths.
In a related development, the Organizing Secretary; Alhaji Adedipe Salman who is also the Chairman of the Ekiti State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board lauded the State government for according the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board full support.
He also urged intending pilgrims across the State to register with the Pilgrims Welfare Board for a successful Hajj Operation in 2026.
The group offered prayers for Nigeria, Ekiti State and the entire Ekiti East Local Government being the host of the October general meeting.
Present at the meeting were imams from all the 16 Local government areas, Clerics, Iya Sunnah, Alasalatu and Muslim communities from Omuo Ekiti, Kota, Omuo-Oke, Ilasa, Isinbode, Ere-meji, Eda-ile, Ikun-oba, Araromi-oke, Araromi-ugbesi
The League announced that its next meeting will be held at the Central Mosque Ado Ekiti.
