After Over a Decade,Gbonyin LG Restores Electricity At Ilupeju- Ijan Community As LG Boss, Ajayi Lauds Oyebanji's Ingenuity, Commitment To Grassroots Development
It was celebration galore on Friday 10th October at Ilupeju-Ijan community in Gbonyin Local Government area of Ekiti State when the people witnessed the restoration of electricity for the first time in over 14 years.
The restoration of electricity was made possible by the Hon. Oluwadamilare Ajayi Local government led administration.
The community was thrown into joyous mood as the people described the development as unforgettable and historic.
The people of Ilupeju-Ijan community commended, Hon Ajayi for his foresight, vision and determination to save them from endless darkness which has crippled their businesses and social life.
Speaking to the media shortly after the light came up, the Local Government Chairman, Hon Oluwadamilare Ajayi said the project was initiated and completed by the Local government with the backing of the State governor, Biodun Oyebanji.
Hon Ajayi noted that the support from the State governor has continued to spur Local government authorities to initiate and complete landmark projects.
While noting that the people of Ilupeju-Ijan in Gbonyin Local government area have endured for long, the Local government boss commended them for their trust, support and prayers for the administration of governor Biodun Oyebanji.
He urged them to closely monitor the electric transformer, cables and other facilities to avoid a repeat of the vandalization.
He recalled that the transformer was vandalized and several wires carted away by unknown criminals thereby putting the people of the community in darkness about 15 years ago.
Hon Oluwadamilare Ajayi reiterated his administration's loyalty and commitment to the governor Biodun Oyebanji's administration in view of ithe State government's people oriented developmental programs, projects and policies.
The lighting up was witnessed by the Onijan of Ijan Kingdom, Oba Adebanji Aladesuyi, Chiefs as well as prominent community leaders.
The local community leaders, including Baale Prince Adeniku Obarinde, youth leader Mr. Abegunde Samuel, Hon. Taye Aremu, and Iyaloja, collectively thanked Governor Oyebanji and Hon. Damilare Ajayi for their support at bringing them out of unending blackout.
Baale Obarinde acknowledged the existence of a functional committee and pledged their commitment to cooperating with BEDC officials, while also advocating additional developmental projects, particularly the improvement of the road connecting Ilupeju Ijan to Aisegba Ekiti.
