SWAN THUMPS-UP TEAM EKITI FOR IMPRESSIVE FEAT AT 9TH NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State Chapter has congratulated the Ekiti State athletes and officials over their performances at the just concluded 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, SWAN commended the support and encouragement from the Sports-loving Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji-BAO.

The governor's consistent passion and commitment to sports and youth development through various impactful policies and programmes was also lauded by the Sports journalists.

The Sports Writers Association also felicitated the ever-efficient and effective Sports Development Office, led by the Technical Advisor to the Governor, Dr Olusola Osetoba and the two Special Assistants on Sports, Hons. Kola Owoseni and Tunde Adesanya, for their sacrifices and dedication to making Sports big business in the state.

The efforts of the State Sports Commission, led by the Chairman, Hon Sunday Ola, was also commended by the Sports Journalists.

SWAN saluted the commitment of the athletes, coaches, officials and journalists who represented Ekiti State at the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State which earned the State 13 medals comprising 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze medals , to finish in the 18th position among the 36 states and FCT.

SWAN expressed the optimism that by the time renovation of the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti and the construction of the Indoor Sports Hall are completed, Ekiti Athletes would have modern facilities to train and perform even better in National Competitions.
