Former Oye LG Boss, Chief Oguntoyinbo Charges Ekiti ALGON To Complement BAO Development Strides Through Impactful Projects, Policies
Former chairman of Oye Local Government, chief Bamitale Oguntoynbo has charged the Local Government Chairmen in Ekiti state to complement the efforts of Governor Biodun Oyebanji at their various Councils through people oriented and meaningful projects that will have impacts on the lives of people at the grassroots.
Chief Oguntoyinbo who was the chairman of Oye Local government between 2004-2007 said the Local Government Chairmen must be proactive, creative and committed to development projects through which their names will be written in gold after their tenure, rather than projects that will not stand the test of time.
Chief Oguntoyinbo expressed the view in his country home, Oye Ekiti during an interactive session with journalists while assessing the performances of the present crops of Local Government bosses compared to when he was serving as a council chairman in Oye local government.
Chief Oguntoyinbo who doubles as the Chairman of Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency while noting that democracy starts from the grassroots explained that many of the Chairmen are far away from the grassroots people.
He urged them create room for regular interaction with community leaders as well as people who have once served and performed creditably in various government positions with credible record of service.
Chief Oguntoyinbo urged the Local government Chairmen to stand and defend governor Biodun Oyebanji in their various councils through the conventional and social media.
According to Chief Oguntoyinbo "a chairman of a council can discuss and collaborate with the governor for a meaningful project for the development of his or her local government, because States are also collaborating with the Federal Government for the development of their various States.
Chief Oguntoyinbo advised the state government to mandate each local government to put in place advisory committees that would do the needful at ensuring the right steps are taken as and when due .
