Emmanuel Anglican Church, Eporo, Emure Ekiti Bestows Post-Humous Awards On Chief Gabriel Ajibola Okeya and Madam Lydia Ajibola Okeya In Recognition of their Indelible Mark
Sunday, September 6, 2025 was a memorable day in Eporo, Emure Ekiti when Post humous awards were bestowed on the late Pa Gabriel Ajibola Okeya and late wife, Madam Lydia Ajibola Okeya.
The duo were honoured by the Emmanuel Anglican Church in Eporo-Ekiti at an occasion graced by congregation, family members and relations from far and wide.
A grand- child of the late couple, Hon. Olu Okeya was joined by Mrs Febisola Okeya to recieve the award on behalf of the Ajibola -Okeya family from the Emmanuel Anglican Church, Reverend Canon J S Olagunju.
Mrs Febisola Okeya represented the daughter of the late Pa and Madam Ajibola Okeya, Hon (Mrs) Tinuke Oluremi Okeya-Omolayo who built a shopping complex in memory of her late parents at Eporo.
The Presiding cleric , Revered Canon Olagunju said the late Chief Ajibola and Madam Lydia Okeya will forever be remembered for their unassailable contributions to the growth and development of the church and community at large.
He described the Post humous award recipients as God- fearing, dedicated and helpful to the less privileged.
Reverend Canon Olagunju noted that the memories of Pa and Madam Ajibola- Okeya will continue to linger in view of their impactful legacies adding that their moral, physical and financial contributions were immeasurable and outstanding .
The church urged the children and grand children not to let the good works and legacies of the late Pa and Madam Ajibola-Okeya be forgotten urging them to continue on the path of godliness and humanity as exemplified by the late couple.
The Former chairman of Emure Local government, Hon Olu Okeya who was one of the representatives of the Ajibola -Okeya family thanked authorities of the Emmanuel Anglican Church for the rare honour bestowed on their late parents even after death.
He assured that the family will continue to support developmental projects of the church in a bid to sustain the existing relationship between the Ajibola- Okeya family and the Church.
