SWAN, Ekiti State Applauds Ado North LCDA Chairman, Gbadamosi For Facilitating Release Of Footballer At Correctional Center


The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State chapter has noted with delight the personal commendable intervention of the Chairman of Ado North LCDA, Hon Olatokunbo Gbadamosi which led to the speedy bail granted an inmate at the Correctional Center in Ado Ekiti.

The inmate named Pelumi Oluwafemi from Akure in Ondo State regained his freedom on Monday after the Local Government boss met his bail conditions.
The 25 year old working at an hotel who was arrested and sent to the Correctional Center by his employer over allegation of fraud.

Amidst tears and appreciation to God while revealing what led to his incarceration about two months ago, Oluwafemi said his employer and an hotel owner in Ado Ekiti called for his arrest and detention after a customer reportedly carried out a fake transfer after lodging at the hotel .

Following the discovery of the fake alert by the hotel Management, Oluwafemi was allegedly wrongly accused of fraud and was dragged to the police station, leading to his detention at the Correctional Center.

Oluwafemi was reportedly asked to pay the sum of 800k instead of the supposed 65k that the customer fake alert that the customer said he transferred to the hotel account.

Having been held at the Correctional Center since then, Pelumi Oluwafemi had the privilege to meet with Ado North LCDA Chairman,Hon Olatokunbo Gbadamosi during the recently played football tournament among Correctional Center inmates as he dazzled and scored for his team that eventually won the trophy πŸ†.
Hon Gbadamosi was emotionally touched when she heard the story about the circumstances surrounding Oluwafemi's incarceration and promised to wade in.

Her intervention through legal means led to his release on bail while the necessary steps are expected to be taken to ascertain his innocence before the court.
The Qozeem Oladapo led Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Ekiti State said Hon Gbadamosi's singular act of ensuring the freedom of a Sports inclined young man from the Correctional Center was laudable and worthy of note.

The body of Sports journalists commended the Local Government boss for keeping to her promise and fulfilling it within few days after the gracing the Correctional Center football final match. 

SWAN, Ekiti State urged other political office holders and influential individuals in the society to emulate Hon Olatokunbo Gbadamosi by visiting the Correctional Center and helping repentant inmates to regain freedom.
