Ado Grammar School 1971 Alumni Commission Ultra Modern Gate


It was a day for old students of Ado Grammar school to come together again to jolly and reflect on the good old days as students of the school as the 1971 set of Alumni of the school assembled to commission the newly constructed ultra modern main gate of the school.

President of the 1971 Alumni set, Dr Adewale Abubakar Giwa said the gesture to construct the ultra modern main gate was borne out of the determination to showcase the school as one of the best in Ekiti with numerous outstanding old students.

He said a former corps member who served in the school had volunteered to raise funds to construct a gate and had approached the school authorities for approval, hence the 1971 set of Alumni also known as "HEROES 71" took up the challenge to construct a befitting main gate that will be a pride to all alumni and current students. 

Former President of Ado Grammar School Alumni Assocation , Prof. Tunde Adeyemo commended all the 1971 set for the brilliant efforts geared towards giving Ado Grammar School a befitting look.

He urged them not to relent at ensuring that more developmental projects are embarked upon forthwith.

He recalled previous efforts of the 1971 set at developing their alma mater.

1973 set led by former nationall president Dr Oluwadare Abiona Akeju praised members of the set for always contributing immensely towards the growth of the school by embarking on several projects including Library, science laboratory and hostel accommodation among others.

First former student to serve as principal of Ado grammar school, Mr John Afe urged all alumni not to relent as there are still numerous projects that are yet to be actualised that could make Ado Grammar School the envy of other schools

Former National President, Dr PK Ajayi praised the 1971 set for their heroism by embarking on legendary projects

He prayed for more joyous moments, landmark projects and greater achievements at Ado Grammar school

Being the president of the 1965 set, he  applauded the current principal for his commitment

He called for unity of purpose among all alumni.

Former deputy governor of Ekiti state who is also an alumnus of Ado Grammar School, Dr Sikiru Lawal who personally constructed the interlocking road into the school was applauded for always identifying with the school and the Alumni Assocation by contributing in no small measure towards the development of the school 

Dr Sikiru Lawal who  described the 1971 set as one of the most peaceful in the history of the school urged all alumni to strive towards giving back to their alma mater in any capacity.

He described Ado Gram as a special school that had produced several high profile personalities who are making marks all over the world.

National Secretary of Ado Grammar School Alumni Assocation , Mrs Foluke Agboola described the privilege of being an alumnus as awesome saying the school was blessed with kind hearted personalities who often magnanimously give back to the school.

The Current Principal of Ado Grammar, Mr Francis Ajayi was grateful to God that the school gate was constructed during his tenure adding that other schools have been coming to enquire about how to erect  similar design in their schools.

He applauded the brians behind the entrance gate project.and gave kudos to other sets for different projects including the ongoing tiling of the school hall.

Current National President of the Mr Tade Ijagbemi was full of praises for the Alumni Assocation members for their rare commitment at making their alma matter stand out in term of development in all ramifications .

He said more projects will soon be commissioned by other members of the Assocation.

There were  tributes in honour of chief Oluwole Ajayi and Professor Ishola Olomola  who were both described as being some of the most erudite forner teachers of Ado Grammar School.

 Gifts were presented to them through their representatives  in acknowledgment of their pivotal roles at moulding several alumni including the 1971 set.
